Ce matin, fini le tataouinage, on s’enregistre à l’hôtel pour le reste de notre séjour au Japon. Comme Tokyo est immense, même en 2 semaines, on ne verra jamais la totalité. Alors on décide qu’on y restera. 

Achat aussi de notre passe de métro. Celui-ci est impressionnant quand on regarde la carte de la ville, mais finalement c’est assez facile de s’y retrouver, du moins si on n’utilise que le métro (ce qui est notre cas).

Notre journée est ensuite consacrée au quartier Shibuya; 

- Salutations à la statue du chien Hatchi (c’est l’histoire véridique du chien qui attend son maître à la gare centrale. Le maître meurt d’une crise cardiaque au travail et ne rentre jamais; son chien l’y attendra jusqu’à la fin de ses propres jours, soit près de 10 ans plus tard. Un film raconte cette histoire… sortez vos mouchoirs)

- On s’amuse à faire le « Shibuya crossing » quelques fois, histoire de vivre la foule qui traverse devant la gare

- Puis on descend au marché intérieur de la gare s’acheter des délices d’ici. Devinez quoi ! 

Ensuite on marche le quartier trop plein de monde, mais faut le faire. Des jeunes gens costumés représentant divers personnages de la culture nipponne ou non, animent la rue. On adore !

This morning, no more tatting, we check in at the hotel for the rest of our stay in Japan.  Because Tokyo is huge, even in 2 weeks, we will never see the whole.  So we decide that we will stay there.

 We purchase our metro pass as well.  This one (the subway route) is impressive when you look at the map of the city, but in the end it's quite easy to find your way, at least if you only use the subway (which is our case).

Our day is then devoted to the Shibuya district:

 - Greetings to the statue of the dog Hatchi (this is the true story of a dog waiting for his master at the central station. The man dies of a heart attack at work and never comes back, his dog will wait for him there until the end of his own days, almost 10 years later… a film tells this story ... take out your handkerchiefs)

 - We have fun doing the "Shibuya crossing" a few times, just to live the crowd that crosses in front of the station

 - Then we go down to the indoor market of the station to buy delicacies from here. Guess what we ate !

 

 Then we walk the neighborhood too crowded, but must do it.  Costumed young people representing various characters of Japanese culture or not, enliven the street.  We love it !
